Dev life @ solidus
From day one, our intention has been to build a company that will be a reliable and stable organization for all who come to rely on us; customers, partners, employees and candidates. Having worked in the contracting industry for years, we found many engineers were unhappy with how they were being treated or how their companies did business.
We had a couple of simple ideas and have built our company’s culture around them;
- Treat everyone with respect
- Ensure all employees are fully-benefited
- Be a team player
- Be open and responsive to suggestions and feedback
- Always follow through
- Take care of the people and the business will take care of itself
We pride our self on centering our culture where our people come first. We are always pleased to hear directly from our employees on why Solidus is a unique employer.
Being in software engineering for over 30 years, I can say that no other place I have worked for has tried as hard to put their employers first and treat them like family. During my time with Solidus I experienced a personal family tragedy. The people at Solidus went out of their way to reach out personally and provided me the latitude to cope with the situation.
I've been developing software for the Air Force which is changing how the Air Force makes, deploys and supports weapons systems using the latest in cloud based technologies. The work is meaningful and it's great to know that my work helps to keep America safe.
Each year I have enjoyed our holiday party and summer family outing. The team also supported my band by attending multiple concerts. But most notably, Solidus was extremely supportive when I lost my wife to cancer several years ago, attending the memorial service, and going so far as to offer rides for my kids.
Being at Solidus for over 10 years, I can say my questions never go unanswered, my feedback is listened to and feel like I have influence.
I have seen them go the extra mile for myself and other team members during difficult times. Having to travel frequently for my job, it’s great to know I can count on a reliable and organized operations team to help me manage my travel questions and expenses.
After only having worked for Solidus for about a year and a half, my husband and I decided to build our dream home in Minnesota. I did not really expect to be able to stay with the company after moving to the Midwest, which would require 3-4 trips to Boston per year. Six years later, I am still working remotely and enjoying the benefits of working for Solidus.
Solidus appreciates each of our employees and enjoys celebrating our work together. We enjoy many fun events together each year, including: a summer family BBQ and outdoor activities, a holiday luncheon and celebration, as well as regular employee luncheons to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and outstanding achievements.

Being a veteran owned company and having many employed veterans supporting our vets is near and dear to us. We are honored to support NECHV throughout the year and be a sponsor at their yearly Leave No Behind Gala. NECHV is one of the nation’s largest private, community-based providers of human services to Veterans who are experiencing challenges following their military service.
At our annual Holiday party, Solidus organizes a food drive with employees in support of our local food bank through the Lunenburg Turkey Hill Family Lions Club. We are proud to be able to give back to our community each year.
To provide support of education for careers in science, technology, engineering, and math, Solidus is a sponsor of Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) annual events such as their annual 5k or golf tournament. A key facet of AFCEA’s mission is to encourage students to enter science and engineering careers—Defense and non-defense related.
